HIROTSU BIO SCIENCE INC. (Representative: Takaaki Hirotsu, hereafter referred to as HIROTSU) attended the Annual Meeting of the World Economic Forum (WEF) which held place in Davos, Switzerland from 16th to 20th of this January.

The Davos Meeting is a gathering of key figures from governments, cultural leaders, the world’s largest corporations, and the most promising startups globally that are launching new ventures with cutting-edge business models. Our company was the only Japanese company to participate in the ‘Technology Pioneers and Unicorns’ section of this year’s Davos Meeting. Going forward, we will continue to strive to be a leading company contributing to health and medicine, working towards a better future.

During the meeting, our company engaged in discussions with experts and business leaders from various organizations on the following topics.
・The potential of primary cancer screening tests
・Methods for promoting cancer prevention in developing countries
・Improving the research environment for researchers
・Ecosystems that foster the growth of venture companies

In November of last year, our company was selected as a member of the World Economic Forum’s Global Innovators Community, and we are honored to participated in the Davos Meeting this month. We believe that being the only Japanese company among the approximately 100 outstanding pioneers and unicorn companies worldwide is thanks to our customers who regularly use our nematode cancer test N-NOSE. Moreover, we believe this recognition reflects the potential of our research and technological capabilities in N-NOSE, as well as our innovative approach of using biological olfaction as a sensor and our novel business model for primary cancer screening to contribute to solving global challenges. Moving forward, we will continue to take pride in being part of the leadership working towards a better world, maintaining our pace in research and development, and aiming to expand our business.
