HIROTSU BIO SCIENCE Inc. provided sponsorship for the 5th “Children’s Future Conference for Supporting the United Nations,” an event where children-the leaders of the future—actively discuss the creation of a sustainable world.

The conference was held on Sunday, March 23, at the Tokyo Innovation Base in Yurakucho, Tokyo, where approximately 100 elementary school students from across Japan gathered to exchange ideas and opinions on critical global issues, including “peace” and “climate change.”

Launched in 2019, the conference serves as a platform for children to explore and envision the future through the lens of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). This year’s event featured a lecture by the Ministry of the Environment and interactive sessions using communication tools, during which participants collaborated in groups to generate ideas and deliver presentations in both English and Japanese.

The participating children shared a wide range of ideas, including the need for rule-making and education to prevent conflicts, as well as deepening intercultural understanding and dialogue. On the theme of climate change, they presented concrete proposals, including tree planting, switching to renewable energy, and interactive environmental games, which created an enthusiastic atmosphere throughout the venue. Amidst commendations from special speakers and notable figures, the children performed a chorus of the theme song and delivered messages looking toward the future. The outcomes of the conference will be compiled into the “TOKYO2025 Declaration” and submitted to the United Nations Headquarters.

In the opening video message, a current government minister emphasized the importance of the awareness and actions of children who are shaping the future. Tokyo Governor Yuriko Koike also praised the children’s active participation and expressed her expectations for continued efforts toward realizing a sustainable society.

Our company will continue to amplify the voices of children who will lead the future and support the creation of a better tomorrow.
