Our CEO, Takaaki Hirotsu, delivered a lecture at the “Small and Medium Enterprises and Regional Economy” class (Instructor: Emeritus Professor Hisayoshi Hashimoto) at the National Graduate Institute for Policy Studies.
The primary participants were local government employees enrolled in the Master’s program, and the lecture was titled “The Challenges and Joys of University-based Ventures.”
During the lecture, Hirotsu shared the founding story of our company, the challenges during the startup phase, and the journey to the present where our “N-NOSE” cancer test has exceeded 600,000 examinees. The lecture highlighted the importance of business models and specific examples were conveyed with humor. Additionally, Hirotsu introduced our business collaborations with local governments nationwide, including the hometown tax donation program, and discussed our involvement in regional revitalization and its relationship with the regional economy.
During the Q&A session, there was a lively discussion on topics such as the realities of fundraising during the startup phase and the differences between domestic and international perspectives on academic entrepreneurship. Some participants expressed that they recognized the importance of business models through the service “N-NOSE” and the company HIROTSU BIO SCIENCE INC.
